Arrival to the elephant home by public or private transport is very easy. We are on a good road and neighboring Queen Elizabeth National Park, a location that gives easy access to the park activities. It is just 10 minutes drive to the park gate where the game drive starts.
On a lucky night, our guests sleep to the sound of the lion and hyena roaring in the Savannah of Queen Elizabeth National Park and always wake up to the beautiful sounds of birds.
Make sure you take some time to wander into the “food forest” along the trails of Elephant Home, while you are here. Tucked around many corners are surprises such as pineapple plants, passion fruit vines, succulent aloe Vera plants and more!
The Elephant Home garden also produces much of our own food that we serve to guests. By adopting the “zero mile diet” principles, we hope to be almost 100% self sufficient in food crops in the coming months and years.
Elephant Home uses many permaculture techniques to keep the land healthy. You can also explore our compost piles to see how we build our own rich composted soils.

75% of the crafts revenue provide the much needed income to the families living near Queen Elizabeth National park, enabling them to pay school fees, medical care, clothing and food for their children. Every craft is unique made at a local home and delivered on order. Crafts production and tourism is an alternative source of income as most crops are commonly raided by wildlife.
